How Li-Fi Technology is better than Wi-Fi

Hey guys!
I'm back with the topic Li-Fi (light Fidelity)

Introduction :
In today's world, many people are misusing Wi-Fi by means of hacking it. there is no security for Wi-Fi.
Li-Fi is a network communication that transmits the data through LED's ( Light-emitting diode) instead of radio waves, Li-Fi is very similar to Wi-Fi and Light doesn't pass through the wall, The size of the visible light spectrum is 10,000 times greater than the radio waves spectrum used in conventional Wi-Fi data transmission.
Li-Fi is a VLC ( visible light communication )technology developed by the German Professor Harald Haas, FRSE He is a German Physicist of Mobile Communications at the University of Edinburgh, came up with the idea Li-Fi. Light fidelity was first introduced on March July 2011 at TED Global Talk.

Relevance :
A Li-Fi is much better and faster than Wi-Fi. A Li-Fi can not be hacked easily like Wi-Fi, it can be useful in electromagnetic areas like hospitals, nuclear power plants by preventing Electromagnetic Interference.
It provides high-speed data communication using the visible light spectrum.
Researchers have achieved data rates over 10GB/s.
light can travel underwater it can be used in underwater too. since light cannot transfer through the Wall It provides security and privacy than a Wi-Fi.

What is Li-Fi?.

--> LI-Fi means Light Fidelity is a wireless network communication technology that transmits data(information) through the light-emitting diode and prevents Electromagnetic interference and provides much faster Internet connectivity 🌐

How does it work?

A Li-Fi comprises of multiple light bulbs that form a wireless network. When an electrical current is applied to a LED light bulb, A stream of light is emitted from the bulb. the signal can then be received by a detector which interprets the changes in light intensity as data.
I'll explain with an example, Take a 9 volts battery connector, LED bulb, 220-ohm resistor, both left and right earphone wire. Now add 220-ohm resistor to one end of the LED bulb and on the other side connect the left side of the earphone wire, connect the 9 volts battery connector to one side of 220-ohm resistor and another side of the end to the right side of the earphone wire.
make a connection as per I told, connect the 9 volts battery to the mobile phone 📱and opposite to it, take a small solar panel connect it to the speaker 🔊.
Now the connection is complete, turn on the LED bulb make sure Light 💡should directly fall at the solar panel, okay! Now the results are visible to you,
Play any video or audio on your mobile phone, now when the light falls on the solar panel the song will play ▶️in the speaker 🔊. This is how Li-Fi works.

How is Li-Fi compared with Wi-Fi?

  • The speed of Li-Fi is 1-3.5 GB/s whereas Wi-Fi is 54-250 Mb/s.
  • The range of Li-Fi is 10 meters whereas Wi-Fi is 20-100 meters.
  • The spectrum range of Li-Fi has 10000 times than Wi-Fi whereas Wi-Fi has radio spectrum range.
  • The Network Topology of Li-Fi is point-to-point whereas Wi-Fi is the point-to-Multi point.
  • In the Data transfer medium, the Li-Fi uses light as a carrier, whereas Wi-Fi uses radio spectrum.
  • The frequency band if Li-Fi is 100 Times of THz whereas Wi-Fi is 2.4GHz only.

Advantages of Li-Fi

  • It is 10 times cheaper than Wi-Fi.
  • It cannot transmit through the walls.
  • It can be used underwater.
  • Researchers had achieved data rates over 10 GBPS.
  • It provides privacy and security 🔐besides Wi-Fi can not.

Conclusion:

Li-Fi is a wireless network communication where it transmits the information through the light. This can be used as a school project or mini-project too.
In today's technology, this wireless technology plays an important role, the Li-Fi technology is not in India despite many countries like Indonesia Is among the top countries using Li-Fi in an educational Centre.
